Bottom line
The sleeper story is that Tower quietly swapped its hardest demand metric, the $1.3 billion SiPho 2027 bookings figure, for a softer, self-admittedly imprecise capacity run-rate calculation ('not 100% accurate'), right as management opened a guidance-conservatism question with 'No comment'. The obvious headline, a strong revenue beat with 23% net margin and capex running ahead of schedule, is real and good, but it masks that the binding constraint here is tool-install/depreciation timing, not demand: capacity is 'spoken for' through 2029 while incremental margin is already guided back down from 62% to 55-58%. My view changes if next quarter management restates an updated contracted-bookings number (not just a capacity multiple) and finally revises the $3.6B/$1.2B model that has now sat unchanged through two consecutive beat-and-raise quarters.

The 30-second version

  • The $1.3B bookings number quietly disappeared, replaced by unverifiable capacity math
  • Blowout quarter, record margins, but guidance model hasn't moved in two straight quarters
  • CFO's 'No comment' on whether the model is already stale
