Bottom line
Tower is scrambling to add $300M more CapEx because they massively underestimated AI data center demand, which is either incompetent planning or the greatest high-class problem ever. The stock sees record Q4 revenue guide of $440M, but the real story is they're now capacity-constrained even after committing $650M, meaning they're leaving money on the table. The binding constraint is qualified capacity, not demand, and they're 6-12 months behind where they should be. 'Customers saying, please build it, we need the capacity' tells you everything. My view changes if hyperscaler CapEx rolls over or if GlobalFoundries announces competitive SiPho capacity, because Tower is betting the farm on AI infrastructure demand continuing.

The 30-second version

  • The sleeper: They're adding ANOTHER $300M in SiPho CapEx on top of the $350M already announced, buried in the financials
  • The obvious: Q4 guidance of $440M (+/- 5%) would be a record, but it's just the beginning
  • The red flag: Newport Beach fab lease extension costs $105M upfront, wasn't planned
