Bottom line
The sleeper story is Tower's emerging monopoly in AI photonics interconnects, with production 1.6T transceivers while competitors are still sampling 800G, creating a 6-12 month competitive moat. The Street sees 'sequential growth returning' but misses that this is entirely driven by a massive mix shift from legacy products to AI infrastructure, with imaging completely stalled and RF mobile losing mix share. The binding constraint isn't demand but Tower's ability to repurpose 200mm capacity fast enough, hence the surprise $350M CapEx. Management claims they have 'unprecedented dollar growth' ahead but conspicuously stopped disclosing the metrics (DSO, segment margins, FCF) that would verify quality. My view changes if Q4 silicon photonics comes in below $35M or if Agrate margins are worse than 300bps dilutive.

The 30-second version

  • Silicon photonics is hitting an inflection point nobody's pricing in: 3x growth to $100M this year, Q4 run rate already at $150M annualized
  • The obvious 'sequential growth story' masks a massive product mix shift: infrastructure now drives the entire company
  • Management stopped disclosing segment gross margins and DSO while launching a surprise $350M CapEx program
