Bottom line
The sleeper story is Pro Power: PUMP ordered $140M of power generation equipment without a single signed customer contract, betting the company on a pivot from frac to power generation while the Street obsesses over Q4 seasonality. Yes, they missed Q4 badly with revenue down 11%, but the real reveal was management saying 'almost all of these initial orders are non-frac applications,' meaning they're abandoning their core market faster than anyone realizes. The binding constraint isn't frac pricing or utilization, it's execution risk on a massive unproven pivot while their acquired wireline business implodes badly enough to trigger immediate writedowns. Most telling quote: when asked directly about Pro Power contracts, Sledge admitted 'We don't have any contracts in place today' after committing $140M to equipment orders. My view changes if they announce even one multi-year Pro Power contract over 20MW before Q1 earnings.

The 30-second version

  • Pro Power is the sleeper transformation story: 140MW ordered, targeting 150-200MW by early 2026
  • Q4 revenue miss masks deliberate capital-light pivot that's actually working
  • Silvertip Wireline goodwill impairment ($24M) signals broader pricing pressure they're not discussing
