Bottom line
The sleeper story is equipment orders for AI-driven PCBs, the first green shoot in the entire cycle buried on page 5. Management wants you to focus on semiconductor recovery 'slowly unfolding' (their favorite phrase used 4 times), but that's the same story from Q4 with zero progress. The binding constraint is NAND inventory that management admits still needs to burn down despite claiming it was 'balanced' last quarter. Most revealing quote: 'We have seen this uptick in equipment orders tied to, we believe, AI' with the hedge 'we believe' telling you they're guessing, not tracking. My view changes if they provide actual AI revenue attribution or operating cash flow recovers above $150M.

The 30-second version

  • AI server boards driving stealth recovery in Electronics & Packaging equipment orders
  • Semiconductor 'recovery' narrative crumbling as management walks back timeline again
  • Operating cash flow mysteriously absent from the transcript despite 'strong' profitability claims
