Bottom line
The sleeper story is platform consolidation, not AI productivity. INTU's customers are spending billions on disparate apps, and the new AI agents are Trojan horses to capture that spend - this is ERP for SMB disguised as invoice reminders. The obvious headline is 47% TurboTax Live growth, but the real tell is management guiding TurboTax to just 8% growth in FY26, suggesting they see this as peak penetration rather than an inflection point. The binding constraint is go-to-market execution in mid-market - they have the product (23% customer growth proves it) but Ashley Still just joined and they're still 'early days' on the sales motion. As Sasan said: 'We are not yet a finely tuned machine.' My view changes if mid-market revenue growth stays above 35% for two more quarters - that would prove the TAM displacement thesis is working at scale.

The 30-second version

  • AI agents quietly became a $180B TAM consolidation play, not just productivity tools
  • TurboTax Live hit 47% growth but guidance telegraphs deceleration anxiety
  • Mailchimp timeline just got vaguer while becoming a bigger drag
