Bottom line
The sleeper story isn't the guidance raise everyone will write up tomorrow, it's that the net leverage ratio vanished the exact quarter they closed a $4B+ debt-funded acquisition, and management simultaneously told you to expect fewer updates going forward. The obvious headline, raised 2026 EBITDA/FCF guidance and a $50+/share 2028 upside case, is real but Cole's own words tell you how much of it is just marks. The binding constraint on this story was never generation capacity, it's PPA signing velocity, and Mac just admitted it slipped again: 'in 2027, 29 becomes the new 28' with 'no one particular gating item'. My view changes if next quarter's 10-Q shows net leverage comfortably inside 3.5x and management re-discloses it voluntarily, and if a specific hyperscaler PPA gets signed with disclosed MW and pricing, rather than another round of 'matter of when, not if'.

The 30-second version

  • The leverage number just disappeared, right after they closed a $4B+ debt-funded deal
  • Guidance raised across the board, but management is quietly pulling back how often you'll hear from them
  • Their own basis thesis just failed in real time, and the binding constraint on the whole PPA story is slipping a year
