Bottom line
Okta just found its next growth engine in AI agents, and the customer traction is real - over 100 customers representing $200M in ARR are engaged, with deals already closing. The obvious headline is solid Q3 execution and raised guidance, but the sleeper story is that this represents the first genuine demand acceleration Okta has seen in years. The binding constraint isn't demand anymore - it's their ability to scale the sales force fast enough to capture this AI opportunity without destroying the productivity gains they just achieved through specialization. Todd's admission that he 'hasn't seen anything like this' customer interest in his Okta experience is the quote that matters. My view changes if the 100+ engaged customers don't convert to production deployments with meaningful ACV uplifts by Q1.

The 30-second version

  • AI agents are driving the first DEMAND acceleration Okta has seen in years
  • They're hiring aggressively but won't admit revenue growth is about to inflect
  • Net retention has bottomed but they're scared to promise anything
