Bottom line
The tariff disruption is masking a deeper enterprise sales execution problem. While everyone will focus on the guidance raise and record margins, Samsara quietly stopped reporting net new ARR after weak Q4 growth and admitted their largest enterprise deals are becoming 'much more longer and more variable.' The real story is that their OEM partnerships with Stellantis (14M vehicles) and others could eliminate hardware deployment friction and expand margins, but management won't quantify the timeline or impact. Dom's quote about customers saying 'I still plan on digitizing my operations' suggests the demand is there, but the binding constraint is enterprise sales cycle unpredictability, not macro conditions. My view changes if they restore metric transparency and quantify pipeline conversion rates next quarter.

The 30-second version

  • Tariff panic is quietly creating a displacement opportunity
  • OEM cloud integrations are the real margin expansion story
  • Construction vertical dominance is masking enterprise sales cycle elongation
