Bottom line
The sleeper story is that subscription ARR growth is guided down to 18% from 23%, a real deceleration that the market is overlooking because cloud (31%) and RPO (44%) headlines look like acceleration, even though last quarter's RPO comp was explicitly normalized to '>40%' ex-ASC606 and this quarter drops that caveat entirely. The obvious headline, a 'blowout quarter' with record $3M/$5M deal cohorts, is real but the binding constraint is monetization infrastructure: consumption-based and flex pricing remain 'early in their cycle' a full quarter after management described 10-12 live meters with more confidence, meaning the AI usage story (MCP calls +400%, Rovo in 80% of Fortune 500) still can't be cleanly converted into incremental ARPU beyond teamwork-collection upsell. Management's own words, 'there was no unblock', confirm this is steady-state execution, not inflection. My view changes if next quarter's subs ARR guide gets raised back toward 20%+ and management reintroduces normalized RPO/CRPO disclosure; absent that, the 18% guide should be read as the real growth signal, not the 44% RPO print.

The 30-second version

  • The real growth engine is quietly decelerating while RPO/cloud headlines distract
  • RPO 'acceleration' from 37% to 44% isn't apples-to-apples
  • AI monetization language quietly downgraded from 'metered cadence' to 'early in the cycle'
