Bottom line
The sleeper story everyone's missing: PFNA's volume comeback is real but it's a Pyrrhic victory. Ramon's '300 million new occasions' sounds great until you realize 2% volume growth only drove 1% revenue growth, meaning they're surrendering meaningful pricing to get consumers back. The obvious headline is the volume inflection, but the binding constraint is margin flexibility - Steve literally walked back PFNA margin expansion promises to 'total company management.' Most revealing quote: 'We're still working through' inflation magnitude with only 6-12 months of hedge protection. My view changes if they can prove sustained market share gains without continued margin sacrifice, or if they provide actual ROI metrics on these pricing investments.

The 30-second version

  • PFNA volume inflection is real but pricing surrender is bigger than disclosed
  • Iran conflict hedge protection expires in 6-12 months, no 2027 visibility
  • PBNA's 9% growth is acquisition-heavy, organic acceleration stalling
