Bottom line
The sleeper story is a massive automotive architecture shift to Ethernet that could be worth tens of billions, with Hyundai as the first domino, but the market's focused on the 30% headline growth that's actually just licensing smoke and mirrors. Strip out the one-time items and core products are dead flat, making this 'recovery' largely fictional. The binding constraint is management credibility: they're burying bad news (product gross margins), extending timelines (underutilization now 'couple years'), and the CFO literally warned about watching for DSO deterioration then refused to provide DSO. 'We feel that distribution inventory has largely corrected' sounds confident until you realize they've been saying this for three quarters. My view changes if MCU/analog show actual dollar growth next quarter without licensing gains.

The 30-second version

  • The T1S Ethernet sleeper: Hyundai deal signals billions of legacy auto nodes converting to Ethernet
  • Headline 29.8% YoY growth masks a dangerous dynamic: all growth from licensing and 'other', core MCU/analog flat
  • Management stopped disclosing DSO after claiming it was improving, classic red flag
