Bottom line
The market will run with the beat-and-raise headline: 7% organic growth, 370bps of margin expansion, EPS up 34%, guidance raised across the board. But the sleeper story is that the software/AI growth engine is quietly decelerating: Forge ARR growth got cut from 15% to '12, 13' with zero analyst pushback, and the AI-monetization narrative that got a dedicated Q&A answer last quarter shrank to two sentences about internal employee training this quarter. The binding constraint right now isn't demand, it's conversion quality: IA's margin print looks great but management itself admits only ~150bps of the 350bps expansion is organic, the rest is accounting from the WWS/PSS split, and Q4's promised FCF conversion above 100% depends on 'strong receivable collections' rather than earnings. The tell is what they stopped saying: no more Middle East collection-risk color, no more 'sold out LNG for 3 years.' My view changes if Q4 actually delivers >100% FCF conversion without a DSO drawdown reversing into Q1 2027, and if Forge ARR dollar disclosure in the 10-K shows the 12-13% growth cut is conservatism rather than real deceleration.

The 30-second version

  • The ARR target quietly got cut and nobody on the call pushed back
  • Beat-and-raise quarter, but IA's margin 'turnaround' is mostly a divestiture illusion
  • Middle East collection risk and the 'sold out 3 years' LNG claim both vanished from the script
