Bottom line
The sleeper story everyone's missing: Process Automation is sitting on a $2B project pipeline that's about to convert to revenue in H2, while Middle East disruptions are actually creating pent-up demand for high-margin services. The obvious aerospace supply chain headline is overblown - March was their highest revenue month and this screams inventory management, not structural issues. The real binding constraint is working capital, not supply chains: free cash flow crashed to $100M despite higher operating income. Most revealing quote: Vimal admitting 'most of our lost revenue was aftermarket...on-site services we provide, which are contractual' - that's recurring revenue getting delayed, not lost. My view changes if Q2 free cash flow doesn't recover meaningfully or if PA&T's H2 ramp fails to materialize from that backlog.

The 30-second version

  • The real story: Middle East conflict is masking a massive Process Automation inflection about to hit
  • Aerospace supply chain excuse doesn't add up - 50% of Q1 revenue delivered in March alone
  • Building Automation becoming the quiet cash cow while everyone obsesses over Aero spin
