Bottom line
The sleeper story is PA&T's 24% orders growth and 1.2 book-to-bill setting up a massive H2 inflection that Street models haven't caught up to, while everyone obsesses over the aerospace spin mechanics. Yes, they raised full-year guidance, but they're managing catalyst shipment timing quarter-to-quarter and dealing with deteriorating Middle East collections they won't quantify. The binding constraint isn't demand, it's LNG capacity being sold out for 3 years and the ability to hit that aggressive 22% IA margin target in Q4. As Vimal said, 'the evidence suggests' Building Automation should keep printing high single digits but 'we are always cautious.' My view changes if DSO deteriorates above 75 days or they miss the Q4 IA margin target.

The 30-second version

  • Process Automation orders quietly exploding while everyone obsesses over aerospace spin dynamics
  • The 'pure-play automation' story masks deteriorating cash collection and Middle East exposure
  • Industrial Automation margin target of 22% in Q4 is the sleeper commitment nobody's tracking
