Bottom line
The sleeper story is that Fabrinet just revealed they're capacity-trapped in a 1.6T transition that may not materialize on schedule, having already converted 800G lines they 'don't want to transition back.' The Street sees telecom strength offsetting datacom weakness, but that's missing the point: operating cash flow collapsed 36% and they stopped disclosing DSO right when receivables quality matters most. The binding constraint isn't demand, it's that they've pre-committed capacity to a product transition with no confirmed timeline. Management's tell: 'We're gearing up to support the customer in whatever timeline they need' means they're waiting, not driving. My view changes if 1.6T reaches 30% of datacom revenue by Q1 2026 or if they restore FCF conversion above 10%.

The 30-second version

  • Amazon warrant deal is actually a stealth $4M quarterly revenue headwind masquerading as a win
  • Datacom collapsed 16% sequentially but management wants you to focus on telecom strength
  • DSO mysteriously vanished from disclosures after being highlighted for quarters
