Bottom line
The sleeper story is that Fabrinet is becoming a DCI/telecom growth story while everyone still thinks of them as an AI/datacom play; 400ZR products alone are now $83M quarterly and growing 43% sequentially. The market sees record revenue but misses that their largest customer segment just went negative and will decline again in Q3. The binding constraint isn't demand or capacity, it's customer concentration risk with a single client controlling their destiny: 'We're ready to go whenever the customer is.' My view changes if 1.6T actually ramps in Q3 rather than Q4, or if telecom growth stalls.

The 30-second version

  • Telecom is eating datacom's lunch: 17% sequential growth in telecom while datacom dropped 9% as Nvidia transitions
  • Record revenue of $834M masks a major customer transition risk that could persist through Q3
  • Building 10's $2.4B capacity addition signals either massive confidence or dangerous overbuilding
