Bottom line
The sleeper story is international: revenue was literally flat sequentially at $375M while growth cratered from 19%/16% organic to 5%/5%, and management's one-line 'lapping comps' explanation deserves more scrutiny than it got on this call. The obvious headline, an 11% revenue beat with 380bps of gross margin expansion and raised guidance, is real, but it's being driven almost entirely by U.S. share gains (+14%) while the international and retention stories go quiet. The binding constraint right now isn't demand, it's payer architecture: the CVS exclusion, quantified at 'less than 4% of U.S. revenue', is small in isolation but management's own words, 'it goes up by a pretty significant amount... much, much, much higher than that', confirm the economics of losing preferred status are brutal, and they wouldn't quantify how many other contracts carry that exposure. My view changes if international organic growth doesn't snap back above 15% by Q1 2027 as promised, or if management is forced to disclose an actual retention percentage rather than the word 'stable'.

The 30-second version

  • International just went from rocket fuel to flat line, and nobody asked why in real-time
  • Beat-and-raise headline masks a payer contract loss management is sizing but not fully derisking
  • Retention/utilization, the metric that matters most as the funnel widens into Type 2 NIT, has no number attached to it anymore
