Bottom line
The sleeper story is that deferred revenue just reversed from +$600M to -$86M sequentially while CFFO fell short of net income by a wider margin than last quarter, and management's answer to the analyst who caught it was essentially to stop dissecting demand into components. The obvious headline, a fourth guide raise to $13.3B and a 38-40% FY2027 outlook, is real, but the binding constraint has shifted from demand to shipping capacity: the upgraded 10%-customer outlook is explicitly dependent on 'whether Todd and Eugenia can ship enough product', and purchase commitments plus inventory are both ballooning ahead of confirmed conversion. Jayshree's own words on the hardest question of the call say it best: dissecting demand into deferred versus orders is 'turning demand into a physics problem that I don't have the answer for because I don't predict or forecast deferreds', which is a tell that visibility into the quality of this growth is worse than the multiple suggests. My view changes if deferred revenue resumes sequential growth next quarter and CFFO closes the gap with net income; if instead inventory keeps outpacing revenue while deferred keeps shrinking, this quarter's beat-and-raise will look more like a working-capital-funded pull-forward than durable AI demand.

The 30-second version

  • Deferred revenue quietly flipped negative while CFFO fell further behind net income
  • Beat-and-raise theater continues (4th guide hike of 2026 to $13.3B, 48% growth), but the binding constraint is shipping capacity, not demand
  • The scale-across TAM got swapped for a vaguer, bigger number, and AI monetization (AVA) remains pure narrative
