Bottom line
Supply constraints are now the binding factor, not demand - Ullal called it the 'best demand ever seen' but supply is a '1-2 year phenomenon' forcing them to pay 'horrendous' prices. The sleeper story is scale-across DCI becoming dominant over scale-out, representing 'at least a third' of $3.5B AI revenue at much higher ASPs via 7800 platforms. Most revealing quote: 'We certainly do not want to keep GPUs idle because Arista did not supply the network' - they'll sacrifice margins to maintain supply continuity. My view changes if deferred revenue starts declining or if they lose a major customer to supply allocation.

The 30-second version

  • Supply chain constraints are now the real growth governor, not demand
  • Scale-across (DCI) quietly becoming the dominant AI fabric, not scale-out
  • XPO optics standard getting real traction but monetization timeline is vague
