Bottom line
The sleeper story is that semiconductor equipment is finally inflecting with customers urgently pulling in Q4 orders and forecasting acceleration through 2026, but this is being overshadowed by the data center deceleration narrative. Yes, data center grew 101% YoY, but sequential growth collapsed to 4% and Q1 guides flat; management blamed 'product transitions' but the real constraint appears to be processor and memory allocation where hyperscalers get priority over AEIS's second-tier customers: 'I think as the contention for processors and memories heats up, I think the hyperscalers have an advantage.' The biggest red flag is Thailand sitting idle after spending 6% of revenue on CapEx; either they're hiding demand weakness or building for unannounced wins. My view changes if Q1 data center surprises to the upside or if they announce a major second-wave customer win that justifies Thailand.

The 30-second version

  • Semiconductor equipment inflection masked by data center narrative: multiple OEMs shifting from Q4 pull-ins to sustained Q1/Q2 demand acceleration
  • Data center revenue 'only' up 4% sequentially after three quarters of 20%+ growth, but management raises 2026 growth to >30% from 25-30%
  • Thailand factory completed but sitting idle: $1B of revenue capacity ready 'within months' yet no startup timeline given
