Bottom line
The sleeper story is that Workday has built a real AI monetization engine - $400M ARR growing 100%+ with 12 organic agents hitting GA and consumption pricing rolling out. While everyone focuses on Aneel's return and the conservative guide, the actual constraint is implementation capacity, not demand. The binding constraint is forward-deployed engineering resources to activate agents faster, which is why revenue impact got pushed to H2 despite having products ready. Aneel's most revealing comment: 'We turn into a consumption platform just like the hyperscalers' - this isn't incremental feature monetization, it's a business model transformation. My view changes if AI consumption growth stalls in H2 or if international doesn't accelerate after years of investment.

The 30-second version

  • Agentic AI monetization is real and accelerating - they hit $400M ARR from AI products
  • The obvious headline is Aneel's return, but the binding constraint is AI implementation capacity
  • International growth engine quietly stalled - same 12-13% growth as US despite heavy investment
