Bottom line
The sleeper story is that Skyworks is using the Qorvo deal narrative to mask deteriorating competitive positioning - flat mobile content despite claiming socket defense means they're losing ground. The obvious headline about beating guidance misses that broad markets growth is decelerating right when they need diversification most. The real binding constraint isn't capacity as they claim, but their inability to grow organically in a 67% customer concentration business model. As Brace admitted: 'we defended our key sockets, we gained where architecture changes created opportunities, with mixed dynamics potentially moderating some of that progress.' My view changes if they can show actual mobile content growth or break the customer concentration below 60%.

The 30-second version

  • The Qorvo synergy story is hiding weak standalone execution
  • Broad markets growth engine sputtering despite the victory lap
  • Capacity constraints excuse is getting stale
