Bottom line
PS4.0 is elaborate window dressing for a business where same-store fundamentals are actually getting worse, not better. While everyone will focus on the management transition, the real story is that same-store revenue guide is -1.1% for 2026 vs -0.5% last quarter, meaning the core business is decelerating. The binding constraint isn't capital or data science - it's demand growth in a supply-constrained industry that still can't generate pricing power. Tom Boyle's most telling quote: 'We're not waiting around' for fundamentals to improve - admission they're focused on financial engineering through acquisitions rather than operational excellence. My view changes if same-store revenue actually inflects positive by Q3 2026, but the 16% non-same-store growth guide (down from 20%) suggests even their acquisition machine is cooling.

The 30-second version

  • The real story: PS4.0 is actually a forced deleveraging of ambitions
  • Non-same-store carrying the whole story but guidance implies deceleration
  • They stopped reporting several Q3 metrics and invented new ones without context
