Bottom line
The sleeper story is backlog, not revenue: RPO grew just 3% sequentially to $485M after management had explicitly disclosed a $2.50-added-per-$1-recognized bookings ratio last quarter, a ratio conspicuously absent this time. The headline 287% YoY revenue beat and raised guidance to $280-290M includes more than the Q2 beat: the $20M midpoint raise exceeds the $12.1M-$15.1M beat against prior quarterly guidance, implied by analysts' own math to be flat-to-down sequentially, forcing Inder Singh to insist 'we don't plan for a revenue decline... we plan for revenue growth now'. The binding constraint right now isn't technology, it's integration opacity: with Skywater closed 'last week', management will not give combined guidance, saying only 'we will come back to you with combined guidance down the road', even as quarterly burn widened to -$120.3M and the full-year EBITDA guide quietly disappeared. My view changes if Q3 RPO reaccelerates past the historical $2.50-per-$1 bookings ratio and management reinstates full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance for the combined entity.

The 30-second version

  • Backlog growth is quietly cratering while revenue grabs the headline
  • Full-year guidance increase exceeds the Q2 beat against prior guidance
  • Full-year EBITDA guidance vanished and multi-product mix quietly fell
