Bottom line
The sleeper story is DDOG cracking the training observability market - hyperscalers who build everything in-house are paying 8-figures for what they used to do themselves, validating a massive new TAM. Everyone will focus on the $1B revenue milestone, but the real story is customer concentration risk finally being quantified: 80% of ARR from 20% of customers is extreme. The binding constraint is their largest customer wobbling badly enough that management explicitly applied extra conservatism. Olivier's most revealing quote: 'Last year training is not a real market for us yet. Now we actually see training becoming a market' - either they completely missed it before or they're overselling it now. My view changes if they start giving exact non-AI growth rates again (suggests transparency returning) or if Q2 sequential adds disappoint (suggests the record Q1 was pulled forward).

The 30-second version

  • Training workloads just became a real market - hyperscalers are paying DDOG for what they used to build in-house
  • Mid-20s non-AI acceleration (23% to mid-20s) but they won't give the actual number - classic denominator game
  • Q2 guidance implies $64-74M sequential add - their biggest ever - but they're applying 'higher conservatism' to largest customer
