Bottom line
The sleeper story is that IAM is driving the first real acceleration since 2021, with billings up 200 bps and a clear path to low double-digit revenue contribution, but management is suspiciously evasive about unit economics. Everyone will focus on the 9% revenue growth beat, but the real story is that enterprise IAM is still mostly vaporware while SMB IAM is quietly working. The binding constraint isn't demand (customers are upgrading without being asked) but enterprise product maturity and go-to-market execution. Allan's most revealing quote: 'We don't even let reps sell IAM right now unless there's an uplift' - they know the value is there but won't quantify it. My view changes if they start disclosing IAM expansion rates or gross margins next quarter, which would either validate the growth story or expose problems they're hiding.

The 30-second version

  • IAM is quietly driving the first real billings acceleration since 2021, but they're hiding the unit economics
  • Enterprise IAM is still vaporware disguised as a measured rollout
  • Gross margin compression is accelerating and they're being weirdly specific about the timeline
