The sleeper story is APG's data center margin machine - they have structural pricing power in large hyperscaler projects with only 29 national players capable of the work, and management unusually emphasized 'really, really strong' margins twice. The obvious headline is hitting 13-60-80 targets, but the new 10-16-60+ framework reveals they're already at the low end of their long-term growth algorithm despite a strong project environment. The binding constraint is human capital - they need to 'more than double' their sales team to hit 2028 inspection targets, and Becker admitted finding people has been the real challenge for a decade. 'Law of large numbers' admission on inspection growth is the tell that their core engine is about to downshift. My view changes if they can prove the data center margin thesis with actual numbers rather than qualitative enthusiasm.
The 30-second version
- Data center margin machine quietly emerging - 10% of revenue at 'really, really strong' margins with structural moat
- Achieved 13-60-80 targets but new 10-16-60+ framework reveals deceleration math underneath
- Free cash flow conversion guide of 'at or above' 75% is a step down from achieved 80% target
